Stage Engineering

Technical equipment is there to serve the performance. It must be easy to use and reliable. We marry innovative thinking with pragmatic solutions. The double orchestra lifts at the Linbury Studio, originally devised to resolve sightline issues for dance, were recently used in performance to reveal the underworld in Orphee. Hinging proscenium towers and movable proscenium bridge bring flexibility and safety to a multi-use college facility in Guernsey. A contoured landscaped floor for an orchestra overcomes hearing issues in the BBC Music Centre competition. Rigged chandeliers elegantly suspend the performance, house and emergency lighting at the Yehudi Menuhin School Concert Hall. A combination of stepped floors and varying height seats to give a steeper rake than the overall height of the building could support at the CYPT Bath – the Egg.
